Wu-Yi MountainsMost people think Wu-Yi Tea is the name of a certain type of tea, such as green tea or black tea, but it is really a place in China where many types of tea come from.  Wu-Yi is the name of the beautiful mountainous region in the northeast area of China.  The Wuyi Mountains are located between Wuyishan City, located within the Fujian province of China and Wuyishan Town, located within the Jiangxi province.  Mt. Wu-Yi Shan is one of the most popular mountains of the Wu-Yi mountain region which in total covers an area of approximately 70 square kilometers.  This pristine area is the perfect setting for a natural park and also has the perfectly balanced climate for tea agriculture and production.  Because of this optimal tea climate Wu-Yi Tea farming has been going on for centuries here in the are of the Far Eastern.

The Mt. Wuyi Shan area has been known to produce some of the most prestigious teas in all of the world.  In fact, for many dynasties it was often offered to foreign dignitaries and high officials as gifts.  Wu-yi tea has been enjoyed by thousands of people over the years and has evolved over time and eventually has spread throughout the world.

Wu-Yi Tea from the Wuyi Mountains is known to be some of the most organically grown and pristine tea due to height of the tea farms in the mountains and also the highly protective nature of the people of their farmland in this region.  In addition, the wuyi mountains are able to act as barriers against the inflow of cold air from the northwest while retaining warm moist air originating from the sea nearby to the east.  As a result, the area has a perfect climate of humidity mixed with high rainfall which commonly produces fogs amongst the mountains.  The annual temperature range of the Wu-Yi Mountains is betweenThe Wu-Yi Mountains 12 to 18 °C.

Tea farmers from the Wu-Yi tea region pride themselves on creating perfect blends of wu-yi tea and are able to create different blends depending on the fermentation time of the tea leaves.  Most Wu-Yi Tea is oolong tea which is derived from the camellia sinensis plant, the same plant that green, black and white tea comes from.  There is also green tea that comes from this tea region, but Wu-Yi is mostly known for its oolong tea.  The popularity of the Wu-Yi Oolong Tea is due to it containing some of the highest amounts of fat burning polyphenols.  Before the wu-yi tea diet rage people from the Far East were using wu-yi tea to fight obesity for centuries.  The wu-yi tea diet has now made its way to the rest of the world due to this dieting effect.  Not only does it help you lose weight, but it also has enormous health benefits!  Now everyone is doing the wu-yi tea diet because it is so safe and is an all natural way to lose weight. As the rest of the world is catching on to the all natural, healthier lifestyle craze, the wu-yi tea diet, (finally after taking centuries) is now here to stay!
